Easter weekend, I

We came home from our spring break, got back into the routine of things for a few days, and then Thursday night drove up to Mass for Easter weekend. It was kind of nice to have a shortened week right after spring break.  Easing back into reality.

The weather was starting to turn while we were there, so there was plenty of outside time. My parents have a wonderful backyard, which leads into the Essex River/Marsh (quite the view!), which give lots of space for Kyalo to roam.

He found the one little mound of snow remaining on their land and claimed it as his, and spent many hours there throughout the weekend.

see the snow way back there? snow + a shovel + mud = joy

at least he was wearing his boots!

and a close up of all that mud

I'd like to submit this as evidence as to why Kyalo will always wear primarily hand-me-downs and consignment shop clothes.  Another reason?  On a walk yesterday afternoon he was picking up handfuls of dirt and putting them in his pockets.  I need to move to the country, stat.

But don't worry, he can clean up pretty good, when need be.  On Easter Sunday, we were all dolled up, so I was sure to get pictures.

the birthday boys! Kyalo and my dad almost share a birthday.  Kyalo was born just a couple of minutes after midnight on April 3, just missing my dad's birthday of April 2.

my favorite picture of the day, I think

more hugs

We went to my home church of Easter, then came home for hand sandwiches and the pack the car madness. It always takes longer to pack up the car than I remember, no matter how much prep I do the night before.

The weekend was filled with lots of good times -- conversations around the fire, celebrating the birthdays (I got my dad sausages from a local place that's been in business 90 years), seeing friends who live in a neighboring town.  The time always goes way too fast.

I do have on more post to share from the weekend.  It'll be right up!
