summatime!

It seems hard to believe that it is the middle of June already.  My mom's already lamenting the fact that we're going to start loosing daylight after this weekend.  I'm trying to focus on glorious, sun-filled (snow free!!!) days and soak up as much outside time as possible.  Today, however, we're camped inside as Kyalo's fighting a fever ('I think I'm still a little bit sick') so I thought it would be a good chance to blog before too much time passes.

At the end of May we took a break from the packing and moving craziness and dashed off to California to see my brother and his family.  These once-a-year visits are definitely too spread out and I hope in the future we'll be able to squeeze in a second trip.

These trips are nothing exciting, just good time and food with family.  My parents stay at a hotel with a pool, and we pretty much take it over.  The kids, especially Campion, could stay in all day I think.

Random things we did:  celebrate Campions 10th birthday, swim, swim, swim, I had lunch with Noelle, the adults had dinner out, the big kids had two sleep overs with Grandma and Grandpa which included a round of mini golf.  I think Kyalo will love that in a few years!

Enough talk. . . picture time!

Kyalo loved this lion outfit. Wore it all the time!

I made a chocolate cake for Campion's birthday.  Had to transport it from the house to the hotel the second it was finished, though, so the icing didn't set and was sliding all over the place. Still tasted good, though.

And lots of pool side shots, since that's where we spent most of our time.

My parents had a friend live with them in the fall for a few months. She moved back home to Santa Barbara in December, and joined us for a day at the pool.  Always nice to run into friends!

And Kate was kind enough to take picture of our unruly crew.
