In January, Kioko turned six months. Six months is maybe my favorite -- babies are sitting, or at least more independent, able to grab at things, more engaged, etc. Kioko wasn't sitting, but he would happily sit in the Bumbo ("bum-mo" as Malaikah says) as long as one of his big siblings wasn't in it.
Kyalo wore this (probably Maliakah, too, but I can't remember!). This is extra special to me as it is from a friend who died in January.
Happy to be in the deli line at Hannaford
In January, Malaikah figured out that she could hold Kioko. She would say, "Sit Kioko's lap" when she really meant he wanted her to sit in his lap. I love that she's wearing her Halloween costume here.
He also got a check up in January:
27 1/4 inches
17 lbs 1 oz
(growing 2 inches and gaining 2 pounds from November!)
February was 7 months (and Dexter's birthday & our 8 year anniversary!!)
Look how happy he is in Kyalo's arms!
a little unsure of broccoli
finally sitting without falling!
Just a week after turning 7 months, later than the other two. (M was the earliest at 5 1/2 months).
We are only just barely getting into solid food with him. He doesn't seem overly interested, and I am not pushing it yet. Breastfeeding is still going so well, and this is my last baby, so....why rush it? :)
And today, finally! 8 months. Oh, my heart.
first swim -- wearing Kyalo's old bathing suit -- he liked it.
my typical view
those cheeks! (and eyes!)
He isn't sleeping through the night yet, but gives me four + hour stretches sometimes, so it isn't awful. No teeth yet, either. I am not complaining about that one. I love the toothless grin!
He has a funny little growl that really sounds like a puppy tearing into food sometimes.
He has a ready smile, especially for Kyalo and Malaikah. And follows them around with his eyes (and scoots around on the floor) adoringly. Not long till he's chasing after them.
I leave you with this...
nothing better than a baby's full-body laugh!
Let's hope I am back on track now!
